How we started
Style 'n Shade was founded with a singular vision: to elevate lifestyles by seamlessly blending technology and the beauty of natural sunlight. Our founder, Fanny Ruffin, is driven by a deep passion for window fashion and innovative technology. In 2017, while remodeling her own home, she identified a significant gap in the market for smart window fashion solutions. Frustrated by the lack of options, Fanny began designing her own shades and soon started helping friends and family. Realizing the profound impact she could have, she launched Style 'n Shade to bring automated shading solutions to more homeowners and developers, enhancing health, well-being, and energy efficiency.
Before founding Style 'n Shade, Fanny spent 25 years as a medical technology business executive, where she was dedicated to bring cures to diseases. Now, she channels her expertise into creating solutions that promote health and mental fitness through the power of natural light.
Fanny's multicultural background and ability to speak four languages enrich her approach to design and customer connections. Her love for textiles, inspired by her time living in Asia and Latin America, led her to create unique, stylish designs with natural and eco-friendly materials.
